white creamy gunk
I have just replaced the spark plugs and was checking the airbox/filters the main airfilter is a little dirty nothing a little clean wont help. However I took out the metal gause filter on the left hand side and it had a creamy white gunk on the bottom of it - am I to be worried by this? first thing that came to mind was oil/water mix? not sure what would cause this. I have a little white smoke out the rear but only when reving the engine. The oil level is on /just below the full line when on the padock stand. Any ideas??
its a k3 pointy n with 8K on the clock oil change about 500 miles ago, ridden in all weathers rain etc. Mark |
Re: white creamy gunk
Could it be white grease?

Re: white creamy gunk
do you do lots of short journeys?
I get white cream/ condensation in my oil sight glass at this time of year because I commute daily 10 miles. A good long ride and thrashing generally clears it. |
Re: white creamy gunk
I wouldn't be too worried, condensation and oil vapour get mixed a lot around that area.

Re: white creamy gunk
cheers, I now have a slight problem - the bolt that hold the rad to the engine has sheered off - I think age etc has softened it etc how do I get it out? I do have a replacement.

If not it might be a case of drill out and tapping. |
