SV, how to

Hi all,

Newbie here! Just bought myself a new SV650 sport and had it for just over a week now - loving it, much more useable in every way than the Yamaha FZ6 I had previously.

Anyway I have been having a look around the forum for a while and there is a wealth of knowledge here which is great when you come across it. What I was wondering was if there was a book/DVD available which would talk you through basic maintenance on the SV - oil changes, chain adjustment etc.

Thanks in advance :)

Either a Haynes or a Clymer manual are you best bet.

Both useful although I prefer workshop manuals myself, mind you they are more a tech spec than walk threw, you might be interested in the stuff Here if you're looking to do mods/ upgrades (and it's free).

Cheers Mark.

Sorry to go slightly off topic but I have the service manuals rictus mentioned and can't find anything about replacing the gear lever anywhere. Is it covered?

hI 4Fold,

Im also a noob, and although i dont wana do the more tricky bits myself, i did wana have that bloke feeling of actually doing a bit myself:D
so i bought a manaul off Fleebay. They have hardback or PDF copies on there for SV's. I got a PDF copy, and for someone who is a total novice i manged to follow it and more or less do a service.

cheers !
