CAr air conditioning...
My Compressor is donald ducked and I want to swap it and recharge the system DIY..
can it be done? I can get hold of a SH compressor...but as for filling the system back up? |
Re: CAr air conditioning...
Probably not worth refilling yourself, you can get a "service"/top-up at Kwik-fit type places for about £50. To do it yourself you need a set of pressure gauges and a very good vacuum pump, so you evacuate the system and remove all the moisture (very low levels or you'll kill it again) and to be able to re-charge, plus anyone with any sense shouldn't just sell you a can of refrigerant, it's a specialist job. Sorry. Fitting DIY should be no problem though.

What he says. Forget the DIY recharge kits sold in some accessory shops, waste of money.

Re: CAr air conditioning...
fair play...
Ill swap compressors over then get it charged elsewhere... Did consider that.. it appears no cheaper to diy recharge anyway! |
