GSXR1000 K5/K6 Ohlins rear shock on a Pointy?

As the title says, is it possible to fit GSXR1000 K5/K6 Ohlins rear shock on a Pointy? I know the standard GSXR1000 shock bolts straight in so I'd imagine the Ohlins will to, will it be too hard for the SV or could it be adjusted to suit? I've been offerd a fully adjustable remote damping Ohlins for good money. Thanks in advance.

Set up for a guy the same weight as myself.

That doesn't necessarily mean it will be spot on for you as the bikes have different linkages.

Do you know what rate spring it has?

Though actually it might be worth a go anyway just to see if it works. If price is good then you will get your money back.

It should fit as good as a standard GSXR shock, as long as it a direct replacement Ohlins shock. As for the set up I would advise you take it to a specialist.

A £500 shock setup for the wrong bike may well feel less good than a £200 shock designed to the correct specification in the first place. I'm sure it'll fit, and when people are on a tight budget ZX6/ZX10/GSXR shocks make it onto a lot of SVs, but it'll almost certainly be slightly the wrong length, wrong damping curve, and wrong spring rate. A less acceptable situation when you're paying for top-draw kit.

As YC says though, you should be able to sell it on if you don't like it, but bear the above in mind when considering an appropriate price.

not worth the aggro tbh, by the time you've fitted the correct (ie heavier spring) there wont be enough damping so it'll need re-valving, costing the difference of buying the right shock in the first place

been offerd the shock for £250, I'll give it ago, was just serviced by a Suzuki GP Ohlins suspension technician Graham Irvine. I'm sure I'll get my money back should it not work.

Even if it works exactly the same as GSXR one, then you've got some bling lol.
