ACU Gold Helmet
Do you need an ACU Gold approved helmet for all track days? If so do they have someone check your helmet before they let you on?
I have an X-Lite 601 which according to this site it is ACU Gold approved, however there is no gold sticker on it and nothing in the instructions that came with it saying it's ACU Gold either. http://www.001bike.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=4X601003XS Cheers |
Re: ACU Gold Helmet
yes you do, pop into your local bike shop and they'll put the gold sticker on it for you

Re: ACU Gold Helmet
Surely all helmet stickers are attached in the factory by the manufacturer. Why should your local bike shop have any, unless they're copies made in Thailand for sticking to sub standard helmets

Re: ACU Gold Helmet
Cheers, I bought the lid from HG back in the summer, next time I go past it I'll ask them to put a sticker on.

Nope, when i worked in hg we often had to stick the gold stickers on helmets & had sheets of spare ones-you can also buy the stickers off ebay |
Re: ACU Gold Helmet
LOL, surely if you can buy the stickers from ebay it makes a mockery of the whole thing. I could buy a sticker and put it on a saucepan and strap that to my head :)

Re: ACU Gold Helmet
Here's an example...
The new Shark Evoline is the first flip front lid that is fully homoglated for both full face and open face. However you would not be allowed to wear it on a track even though it is 'gold' rated. The whole sticker thing is a complete joke. |
