how can it make that much tourqe when the engine isnt turning

anyway, i bet i get farther on a tank o fuel on my sv than on a singl charge on that

and my SV sounds better

The Mission One's electric powertrain delivers blistering performance with no carbon emissions and one of the lowest environmental impacts of any vehicle on the road.
No carbon except for the coal burned to produce the electricity to charge the bike presumably

And the environmental impact of the chemicals in the batteries probably isn't insignificant...

Same problems as all the other "green" electrical vehicles

edit: oh, and it might do 150 miles before you need to charge it, but how long do you have to let it charge for before you can continue?

but 100lbft is nice to have, shame they forgot to get a sighted person to design it

In practice they mean from zero revs or alternativeley think of a battery power drill - hold the drill bit so it can't spin & pull the trigger, you will still feel all the torque through your hand with out the motor turning :)

150 mile range* - so it's debatable which is further, that or an SV.

OK Agreed** but the neighbourhood might think different

*150mph so it's faster than an SV

** It looks better than an SV so swings & roundabouts

True but no poisonous emissions are floating up and into the atmosphere, well a part from all the ones from the power stations but they don't count to environmentalist appartently.... ;)

So!!!??!?!?

I will accelerate like a *******! Imagine getting double the torque of the SV, everywhere in the rev range, all the time.

Obviously, you can produce the electricity using a wind turbine etc. Even a coal station is going to be more efficient than a bike engine. Seriously, 40mph for a bike is a bit **** if we are honest.

Anyway, it's pretty radical design. I quite like it.

the station is but you have to convert the power from the station to the powerline 400kV, then 33kV local distribution, then 240V household, then charge a battery with it, then discharge the battery with it

that's only 4 conversions, even if each one is 90% efficient that'll leave you with less than 60% of the energy you had when it left the power station
