plastics
Was changing a mudguard over this morning, why :smt102 because it’s cheap and looks better IMHO.
From the Enduro one http://photos-g.ll.facebook.com/phot...73726_8631.jpg to the Supermoto one http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...02555_8182.jpg http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...02552_7456.jpg all for a grand cost of £12.99 And it leads me to a question……. The bodywork on the CCM is that soft plastic the bends and then springs back into shape, looks OK, and is very cheap to replace being simple injection moulded (about £60 for everything new). So why aren’t street bike plastics made from the same stuff? OK it doesn’t hold paint very well, but as said cheap enough to replace and they don’t shatter in the event of a fall? Cheers Mark. |
Re: plastics
They could add the colour before moulding but that would make to much sense not having to buy new parts every time you dropped a bike

Re: plastics
He has a point, most bike companies make more money from spares than the bike themselves. So design in failure

Think you've answered your own question ....
