regulator/rectifier Sv650 K5

I am replacing mine.
I know you are supposed to get to it by removing the air filter housing, but is it not easier just to lift the tank and get to it that way?? Or is there some other reason i cannot think of why i shouldn't go that way? thanks guys.

Is that where they put it on a k5? On carb models they are in the tail unit but I've not had a close look at a pointy.

Eh? To remove the airfilter housing you have to lift the tank anyway and are you sure you are removing the right bit?

it should be at the back of the bike, under the pillion seat. you need to take the tail section off

Not on a K6 it's not. Therefore I'd assume a K5 would have it in the same position as a K6.

For the K6, you lift the tank, then take the black airbox (top and bottom parts) off so you can get to the reg/rec. Also remember to disconnect sensors to help you shift the airbox out of the way. :)

Also, if you haven't got a replacement reg/rec yet, it'd be worth fitting one from a CBR600RR instead - bigger and and less prone to failing than the stock SV one.

Tho that might apply only to curvys too...

Nope on my Sv650 curvy it's here!! but I got it sorted now, thank you. The only thing under my pillion seat is the new wiring for my intergrated tail light. lol :-D
