its finally happened i dropped it!

hi all
i had a bad day at work yesterday and it didnt get any better at home. on the way home the left mirror came loose so at home i got out the spanners to tighten.sat astride the bike i retightend the mirror and aligned with bike in upright postion after finishing i went to lean bike back onto stand but did not realise it had move back slightly so as the weight transfered on to stand it flipped up catching me off balance. so you can imagine me wrestling the bike to stop it hitting the deck. anyway gravity won after a quick look around to see who was laughing i lifted the bike back up and made sure it was steardy on stand this time. a quick glance over bike dreading the worse but hooray not even a scratch apart from the crash bung and handlebar end so i am so glad i had them fitted. next i tried to start bike but it would not. the screen was showing "check" now im starting to think big garage bills. after a few attemps it started so im guessing it was the tip over sensor maybe?
anyway i think a lucky escape

I done that too! If its a curvy I think the fuel drains out of the carbs when it gets horizontal, takes a couple of minutes to start going again.
You are lucky though with no damage!

i'd bet dollars to donuts you hit the kill switch when it went over, or that in your adrenaline rush you forgot it was in gear / sidestand down etc

Its amazing how light your bike becomes when you drop it infront of an audience. ;)

I usually do myself more damage picking it up than falling off

and it doesn't kick in till 2 days later.

Its amazing how you automatically stick your leg/foot/knee/anything out to try and break the fall of the bike - never mind the 180kgs or whatever it is thats about to land on aforementioned appendage!

Oh jeez unlucky, at least there's no damage. I rolled my bike out of the back gate the other day with the sidestand down and must've clipped it back a little, when i went to put it on the stand it just gave way and i only just managed to hold it :p more thoughts went through my mind in those seconds than in the rest of the day!

Anyway you do it once you learn and you don't do it again i suppose :p
