DIY tinting a screen
Has anyone done this? Its not for an SV before anyone asks, but short of painting it flat black (and making it totally opaque) is there anyone who has had a go with applying a tint to one?

Re: DIY tinting a screen
u can buy the stuff that tints the car lenses, just spray it on the inside of the oe screen for a good finish.

Re: DIY tinting a screen
You can buy window tint for cars from somewhere like halfrauds so i would assume you try applying it to the inside or outside of the screen. A friend of mine it has done it on his motorcross goggles and it seems to work ok.

Re: DIY tinting a screen
My screen on my sv was originally clear and I think its just been spray painted black. It looks quite good but where its been against the clocks the paint has come off.

Re: DIY tinting a screen
Ive done screens before with the halford film tint stuff.
Take the screen off, wet it well with soapy water, apply film and squeegy all the water out, wait for it to dry and then cut off the excess. Refit screen. Easy. |
Re: DIY tinting a screen
Seen it done with spray paints for radio controlled model car shells (Model paints)

Re: DIY tinting a screen
anyone know how to get scratches out? One of the screens has a few fairly deep scratches (Certainly deeper than what T-cut can manage)

Re: DIY tinting a screen
my garage door came down on my screen and put a right gouge in it, autosol got it out.
