Getting a bike delivered
Can anyone recommend a firm to bring my new bike from Swindon to Leamington? I've had a few quotes that seem reasonable but thought I would ask if anyone has had good experiences (or has the means to do it and would like some beer tokens).
I've bought a yellow curvey naked :D |

Is it rideable?

Get a train to Swindon and ride it back?

Re: Getting a bike delivered
If it's not ridable, or you can't legally ride it, there's a couple of options I'd consider before paying a company to bring it back.
Firstly, do you have any mates (or any .Orgers - same thing IMO) that could take a train & ride the bike to you, for a few beer tokens. I know you've put it, but that's my first port of call. Secondly, if you (or anyone you know) has a car licence, and is over 25, van hire is stupidly cheap. It cost me £77 for a days hire of a transit not long ago to move a Daytona 675. |
Re: Getting a bike delivered
Just get a train - I'm sure on of us in Swindon would collect you from train station or get a taxi.
I've got a few people with vans but they are pro movers so normally quite expensive due to the insurance :( If the guy needs it out of the way your more than welcome to keep it at my place til you can get down - I could collect it and ride it to mine (beauty of trade plates if no mot etc) |
Re: Getting a bike delivered
The bike is rideable but the main issue is timing. Seller is only available weekends I dont really have any time so getting it delivered is more of a convenience thing than anything else. Its made more complicated by me wanting a Friday evening collection :(

Re: Getting a bike delivered
Try These, I got mine delivered from Newcastle down to Chippenham, 350 miles for £125. Would've cost me in petrol to drive up and ride it back.
Excellent service, kept me informed to as and when it was picked up, when they were leaving, ETA and when they were within 10 miles of the final destination. Couldn't fault them at all. |
Re: Getting a bike delivered
Straight run down the A429 on the back of a fellow orgers bike is possable.
Its good weather this weekend too, if you want a lift down on friday night, let me know. |
