I've got one thats had the link pipe cut, shouldn't be too hard to bodge it on with a beer can or something?

Why not? The exhaust won't make any difference as the restriction is to the intake.

Re: Restriction

its a 99 curvy, think i need the down pipe aswell as the exhaust :smt017 the reason they say i need it is because the non road legal exhausts i have on can apparently add 3/4 hp and he's unwilling to stamp the certificate without the stock exhaust on

Re: Restriction

Woops, its a curvy.
Disregard the bit about ecu's..

Garage's dont usually have a problem with illegal plates and exhausts..
If thats why they wont fit it..

Is it a full system or a slip-on?

If its a slip on, hes talking out his @rse.

Re: Restriction

Local/independant mechanic?
You dont need the certificate for insurance purposes, its just a ploy to charge you an excessive amount of money for a peice of paper that isnt needed.

Did you buy the restrictor from them?

Re: Restriction

yea i paid them half the cost as a deposit and they ordered the restrictor in.
just phoned another garage waiting for a call back to see if they will be more lenient
