Restriction
Hi guys i need help!
the garage can't legally restrict my sv becuase it has the race exhausts on, and i don't have the original, was wondering if anyone can lend a helping hand and maybe let me borrow/buy theres? im in basingstoke, so would need someone close. so much for getting to ride the bike by end of the week :( |
Re: Restriction
I've got one thats had the link pipe cut, shouldn't be too hard to bodge it on with a beer can or something?
|
Re: Restriction
What kind of SV is it?
What type of restriction is it? If its a ecu restriction sod the garage, do it you'reself. |

Re: Restriction
its a 99 curvy, think i need the down pipe aswell as the exhaust :smt017 the reason they say i need it is because the non road legal exhausts i have on can apparently add 3/4 hp and he's unwilling to stamp the certificate without the stock exhaust on

Re: Restriction
Woops, its a curvy.
Disregard the bit about ecu's.. Garage's dont usually have a problem with illegal plates and exhausts.. If thats why they wont fit it.. Is it a full system or a slip-on? If its a slip on, hes talking out his @rse. |
Re: Restriction
find another garage!
|
Re: Restriction
its a full system its got 2 exhausts instead of the normal 1
would find another garage but they already have bought the restrictor and the only other garage of the top of my head can't fit me in till 31st march |
Re: Restriction
Local/independant mechanic?
You dont need the certificate for insurance purposes, its just a ploy to charge you an excessive amount of money for a peice of paper that isnt needed. Did you buy the restrictor from them? |
Re: Restriction
yea i paid them half the cost as a deposit and they ordered the restrictor in.
just phoned another garage waiting for a call back to see if they will be more lenient |
