Motosliders problems... can't get them on!
Well, can't get the mounting bar out of the bike for a start. I don't think it's been removed before but since i dropped the bike i kinda think i got away quite lucky, time to put them in. Also got swingarm sliders, they a pain in the ass or not?
Anyone got any advice on how i should be removing the pin? Instructions just said remove it but that didn't really help. Thanks :) |

What pin?
Are motosliders the ones as bought from that blake guy's sv ebay shop? There was no pin when I fitted mine. |

If you mean the engine mounting bar then just try to push it through with the one that comes with the Motosliders.
If you can't push it through with the bar then gently tap* it with a hammer. *Give it some large |
Re: Motosliders problems... can't get them on!
Yeh sorry got pin in my head from someone else, meant the mounting bar, won't come out for toffee, i don't wanna jump up and down on the wrench... i've tried warming the engine up to see if that works but nothing.
Basically i can't get the nut off... i dunno if it's something blindingly simple or not tho. |
Re: Motosliders problems... can't get them on!
Ahh so you've not taken the nut off it yet either?
You need a socket on either end to stop it spinning |
Re: Motosliders problems... can't get them on!
Yeh i tried that, haha :p... one on either end but it just won't budge at all.
Someone said something about trying to lift the engine with someone just maybe a couple of mm off the ground? Shouldn't it just come out? |
Re: Motosliders problems... can't get them on!
Put a large crap screw driver on it's nose a smack it with a mallet. Should pop out you're replacing it anyay no problem if you damage the threads (but try to avoid it). Put a thin coat of grease on the one you put back in.
Edit: oops just saw the above, how big's you ratchet/ breaker bar? put a spanner on the bolt end at one end and your most heavy duty tool on the nut end and give it some. You can extend the handles on breaker bars with solid tubing ir soemthing just for a bit more leverage. |
