higher handlebars on naked SV
I've been riding the bike (naked SV) for a year now. In the autumn a friend fitted bar risers which made quite a bit of difference as to reaching the bars, and feet touching floor etc and sitting a bit more upright esp as the bars were also twisted a bit more towards me.
But I really want to lean even less on the bars. I'm not that tall. What is my best option and has anybody else done this? Get higher bars? which ones? will everything still fit (apart from longer cables probably) but I mean everything on the bars itself. Or even higher bar risers, but I guess that will start to look ugly, the risers I got at the moment you hardly see. Any advice much appreciated. |

Hi Wow, these are what I have (ok some might say not pretty but they are ergonomic and do the job). I actually have mine now pulled back into the right position for me (above was when they were first put on) and I don't have to reach forward or lean on them. I did have to lengthen the clutch cable and upper brake pipe hose (just bought another lower brake pipe hose). The only problem we have had is that the throttle cables are only just about long enough where I have them, so to pull the bars back even further as you might want to - they would need to be lengthened too. They are called Vario Risers and I got them from M & P. hth  |

Thanks Arty.
Sometimes I think that I want to keep the standard risers I have but just have bars that are bent upwards, not like apehangers but based on them. Don't know if they exist. |

If you are using the standard brake lines then they are a bit of a pain to extend, you will need a set making.
Renthal make loads of different types of bar, I'd be surprised if some high rise motocross type ones wouldn't fit the bill. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...Name=WDVW&rd=1 A quick google-fu suggests those, they look to have more rise and sweep than stock. But obviously appearances can decieve, and I don't have any stock ones to measure. |
