Fred?

Curvy - naked
On the first diagonal from the front, clutch hand side, there's a hole.
Is this tapped, if so any idea what thread?
Any ideas or insults gratefully received.

Being a bit more specific might help! Do you mean on the inside of the first diagonal spar, nearest the yokes? They're used to attach the fairing brackets on the faired version. I'm pretty sure they're M4. Threaded on faired, maybe/maybe not on unfaired. :p

To find out what thread it is try another bolt in there perhaps.
eg.
The frames black plastic infill bolt is M4.
Front tank bolts are M5

Yes - on the inside.
Tried the infil bolt & that goes straight in so hole is bigger.
Tank bolt didn't go in & didn't try too hard in case any thread was damaged. Not sure if alloy is tougher than cheese bolt.
It's probably cheaper for Mr Suzuki to tap all holes than to only do 'S' ones.
Some silly b had just filled tank so it was starting to seem - time for a brew & ( temporarily )abandon task.

Been out to the shed for another look.

I'm 99% sure it's either one of those sizes, I'd say M5 looking at it. I can't get right in there to try one in - gawd it's an awkward spot! I had my tank up already.

If you really can't get M5 in, maybe it's not threaded on yours. Mr Suzuki would know which frames are destined to be faired or not.;) Then again, why drill a hole that wasn't destined to be used.
