Possible theft attempt?
Afternoon everyone.
So my sv has been has been laid up ,undercover, in the front garden since last November with nobody bothering it (ASFAIK!). Went to lunch at my parents - bike was fine. Upon arriving home my brother pointed out that the cover had been lifted up over the front right quarter. Had a look and discovered that the kill switch cluster had been taken apart and was hanging under the bars and the throttle cables had been disconnected too. Moved the bike and found 3 black screws of varying lengths on the floor (should I be looking for more??). I don't know too much about bikes ,well nothing really, but i'm pretty sure you can't hot wire a bike from that cluster(Hasn't even got a battery in it anyway). So like like the title says...anybody know what just happened? |

Re: anybody know what just happened?
Thanks for the quick replies.
My first thoughts were that somebody was either trying to steal it or get a part for their bike. Thing is, its been unridden & undercover for the last 6 months so it was just a random bike sitting there under the cover rather, than an SV to anybody passing, which makes me think that someone was trying to nick it. Is it worth running a poll to see who thinks they're coming back? |
Re: anybody know what just happened?
**** that do something about it get it locked up to the eyeballs.

Re: anybody know what just happened?
Get hold of a load of expended shotgun cartridges and pop them under the cover. Gives a subtle yet effective hint...

Re: anybody know what just happened?
Make sure it's locked good and proper.
Alternative if you can cope without sleep get your bat. |
