Recording bike rides - Helmet Cams
What are the views on cameras like these:
ATC 3k Action Camera Tachyon XC GoPro Hero From looking online the Tachyon XC looks like the best. Anyone had any experiance with these all in one cameras that dont need a separte bits and bobs. cheers |
Re: Recording bike rides - Helmet Cams

Re: Recording bike rides - Helmet Cams
bought the go pro one... the motorsport kit.
it comes with all the bits to connect it the bike or helmet. It lasts an hour an records direct to an SD card. I got the wide angle one. I'm not sure if the normal one would have been better or not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMYfCFNP8Hs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MZuqihN9Ow the quality is better before it gets uploaded onto youtube. i think the only downside is the shape of the camera, its not an aerodynamic bullet cam type shape. Re: Recording bike rides - Helmet Cams
I was looking at the mini DVR set up from Dogcam
http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/mini-dv...o-recorder.htm You normally have to use a battery pack for the camera as well as the mini DVR but these came out last month, the DVR powers the camera as well so only one wire. It's a 520 camera which gives pretty good results. Not bad for £200 |

Re: Recording bike rides - Helmet Cams
Rather than battery power it is entirely possible to regulate a 12v supply from the bike. I have the bits and bobs here for if I decide not to sell the dogcam 520 and recorder

Re: Recording bike rides - Helmet Cams
I've got the ATC 2k, works well enough, lasts a couple of hours per set of batteries, and a 2gb sd card, lasts just over an hour.
perhaps not the best available quality, but for the money (that being £70 all in), it's good enough. Cheers Mark. |

The kit comes with is impressive. Lots of adhesive pads. A couple of adaptors allowing it to be mounted to the top or side of your helmet and a suction mount to mount it to fairings (not tried this ) K |
