I'm told to go there with nothing to prove and expect nothing back. Treat it as a fast road ride and keep an eye on your mirrors. STAY IN THE NOVICE CLASS ON YOUR FIRST RACKDAY.

Do not keep an eye on your mirrors!!!

Even better take them off your bike all together. Just concentrate on making the apex and getting through the corner smoothly. The person overtaking from behind should be responsible enough to get by safely... It is not your concern what is going on behind you. So your full concentration needs to be on the corner ahead, braking points, turn in points, apexs and most importantly the exit. :D

HTH

P.S. No offense intended Jamie

None taken. I've just heard of aliens making race worthy dives up the inside and I'd it'd be you that gets taken out. :)

Not really. Even in inters where overtakes are a bit more aggressive they are normally legitimate. Nothing to worry about, especially if you;re in novice for your first track day.

Presume it's the Indy circuit you're running on.

Take a look at a few videos and look for some track plans before the day. Certainly helped me on my first track day.

Once you get there you'll recognize corners well and know a bit more about them...

I'm just about to book mine too! :D Oulton park, can't wait! Few questions...
  • If I get taken out by an idiot, am i still responsible for repairing my own bike?
  • What happens if you total your bike on the track?
  • Does anyone bother with trackday insurance?
  • As the SV is a relatively low power bike, does this mean i'll generally be the slowest?
  • Do they provide lunch or do you have to take it?
