Done my good deed for the day

Was on my way home and there was a tractor pulling a trailor and a large van behind him, i was behind the van, the van tried to overtake tractor once couldn't make it pulled in behind him, tried again and made it but nearly had a head on with an artic coming the other way, then as he is going through a 30 he pulled out to go past a parked car and hit a toyota starlet with a young girl driving, the girls wing mirror went through her side window and she had a scrape down the length of her car, the van did not stop oops.
She was quite shaken up of course rang her dad to pick her up, i called the police and told them what i saw, oh she had minor cuts on her arm from the glass, she went and sat in the ambulance for a bit but was ok.
Question is if they do not catch the other driver will the claim have to come off her insurance as it was not her fault, anyhow just thought i would let you know, do i get a community reward now, lol.

At least she as alright

Insurence wise...... Van clipped my sister on the motorway. Drove off never to be seen from, alsmost didnt have a sister after that. Cant remember technicalities but nothing effected by her insurence and she still got compensation. might have been due to the fact she destoryed 50m of central reservation.

Isn't there a fund to cover incidents involving uninsured drivers? (that's why premiums are so high - we all pay into this pot)

If the van driver isn't found, surely it would be treated as an uninsured vehicle.
