In line with Westminster City Council's "Traffic Free Shopping Day" whereby they are opening the car parks for free car parking, the NTBPT is putting its full weight behind supporters' initiative by inviting you to join us at Cavendish Square (Oxford Street) Car Park [FULL DETAILS & MAP]. Please be parked (one bike per car bay) by 9.30am, obviously the earlier the better! THEY TREAT US LIKE CARS, WE'LL PARK LIKE CARS!!!

Ah more of their propaganda after the demo last week showed them for the money grabbing gits they are.

In fairness, some car parks have had free parking available to motorbikes for a while now but they are very few and far between.

The joke is the nearest Cra Park to where i (now used to) work is about a 15min walk, yet the nearest bike bay is less than a minute away so this idea really doesnt help bikers much, its an idea they've had to get bikes off the road and unseen so it looks like bikes are not such a popular form of transport and/or they can say "look, there are empty spaces in some bays on the road so we have clearly provided more bike bays for people to use"

Why do we tollerat Govt spin doctors who say these things btw, surely "spin doctor" is just another word for "accomplished liar" isnt it?

A quick search of Google News gives us this:
http://www.24dash.com/news/Local_Gov...ndon-car-parks

"Westminster council is to create hundreds of free parking spaces for motorcyclists in central London, it was announced today. From next month, motorcyclists will be able to park for free in any one of the 900 free spaces in the council's 14 undercover car parks.
It comes as the council cuts the daily £1.50 charge to just £1 to park on street in any bay in Westminster - a reduction of more than 30 per cent.
The price of an annual parking permit has also been reduced from £150 to £100 which equates to just 33 pence a day."
