Xbox 360 advice

I am probably going to get one tomorrow and was looking for clarification on the spec of the middle one and the top spec black one. Is the difference only the hard drive size? what is that used for? is it actaully necessary to have an extra 100GB? I would like to play online (not right away) but i dont see why more than 20GB would be needed.
I am going to get a second hand one from game/game station depending on who can offer the best deals with a years warenty.

PS3 online is **** and full of people who modify the games.

Buy the 20G console unless you think you will be downloading lots of videos and games off the marketplace which is unlikely.

They have downloadable content and demos so a big hdd is good. I'm tempted by a ps3 with play tv , blu ray and free online gaming but have too many consoles at the moment and not enough time to play

One advantage of the elite (black one) is that they fixed some of the problems iirc. This could be worth bearing in mind if you're buying second hand without a full warranty as I'm yet to come across someone who hasnt had the ring of death at some point (except me, but mine isnt used much).

Personally, if buying now I would get an elite but I'm perfectly happy with my boggo white one.

I was under the impression that they were all released at the same time and all suffered with the same issues?

The ps3 is the ONLY console to have, xbox's break all the time, you cant just go-online straight out the box. Rubbish imo.
