How do you clean your textiles?

I have had my textiles for a bit of a while now and they get abused on a daily basis all year round and are starting to HUM a bit.......

So what's the best way to clean them?

Cheers,
Kev

Lux flakes they are pure soap no chemicals to harm the waterproofing also waaaaaaaaaay cheaper than the fancy tech washes and just as good. Then a top up of your waterproofing with Fabsil one tin lasts ages and will proof any outdoor fabrics even tents :thumright:

I have the HG Journey textile suit

I've had it 8 months now and its never been washed. I just spray muc-off on the outside and wipe down with a damp cloth. For a little extra protection I spray NikWax TX. Direct spray on afterwards.

Comes up really well.

In the machine with the techwash, turn em inside out and remove the armour then reproof afterwards.

Or.. put take out the armour and then fill the bath with tepid water, drop them in and then rub baby shampoo into them, rinse and repeat till the water runs clear and then reproof afterwards.

Both ways work fine, but I find the techwash / machine less hassle.

You can get the techwash and the nikwax reproofer from Millets.

Get a good woman to do it for you:)

Outside in -no Armour-washing machine-re-proof +4

My wife has done mine 6 or 7 times now,but can I recommend a good thermal /wicking under layer which is a lot easier to wash than the actual suit. Not for exterior grime obviously but on the perspiration side it keeps your suit fresher

Just a note when re-proofing, the garment needs to be a bit damp or the proofing doesn't work. Try to put a little extra reproofing on the known element exposed areas as well, i.e. crutch, ****, and knees. Don't ask me how I know this little tip, I re-proofed my textiles when dry, and 'soggy balls' does spring-to-mind. Edit: the four stars censored the word '@rse'
