European headlights

Does anyone on here run european lights on their sv?

Reason, i binned the bike and need a new headlight, I can get a european one for a hell of a lot less than a uk one.
Spoke to my mot guy and he says that its no problem for the mot. just needs the tape on them.
I was wondering if anyone ran like this and if it adversely affected the light while riding?

Main question is, how much night riding do you do where there is no street lamps ect?
otherwise i know a few people who have european lights, and they never complained once as its only a small bit of tape.

My one got failed on an MOT because of the euro headlights, were trying to lighten me of £350.

I got a uk one from a breakers, with a loom, and a new battery, for under a hundred.

1 hour job to fit yourself.

KG my old Superdream was imported with a European headlight on it. First MOT the guy put a bit of tape on the glass which has remained there for 8 years no problems. It is tested in the Midlands though!!!

Yeah, mines got Euro lights if you dont mind dazzling the odd person at night, and only having one side light up at a time (left dip, right main) theyre fine. I was gonna fit british, but cant be bothered to be honest. MOT no problem.
