Leather trousers
So now college is over im going out on the bike alot more and doing longer rides so thought it would be the safest and best idea to invest in a pair of leather trousers.
so my question is how much are a decent pair of leather trousers? any good makes you could recommend? should i get some off ebay or only from dealers? im not looking to spend hundreds because i don't make enough to cover bike payments aswell so any help would be appreciated. Im a 32" waist and about the same inside leg. |
Re: Leather trousers
How long is a piece of string?Post what size you are looking for and I bet someone on here will have some spare gear going for a song.

Re: Leather trousers
If you can get something that will zip to your jacket, helps stop drafts and is safer if you fall off.

Re: Leather trousers
Personally i wouldn't bother with leather trousers - i'd go for either draggin jeans or textiles. I don't really do sportsbike riding or trackdays, so it'd be draggin jeans for little trips while the sun is shining, and textiles for everything else.
Currently I only have the textiles. |
Re: Leather trousers
Personally I like to try things on to make sure they fit properly.
Leather strides are a good protective item of clothing to have and like a lot of people I never ride without them. They're not just for sportsbike riders or trackdays. Also you don't have to be going fast to get a lot of abrasion damage to yourself/clothes and leather will probably* be better in a spill than denim-based items. One good thing - you feel safer in them and may well be more relaxed as you ride, making it even more fun! *my opinion - not backed up by anything scientific |
Re: Leather trousers
I've got a set of Bikers Paradise Warrior jacket and jeans going spare if you're interested, plain black, good condition.
I find I only wear my textiles now so don't really need them anymore. Size is 32x32 jeans, 42 jacket. Also some size 10 Viking Warrior boots come to that (note they are not waterproof, which is why I changed). PM me if interested. |
Re: Leather trousers
eBay mate, there's loads on there- you'd get a decent two-piece suit for a couple of hundred. It's worth it if it saves your skin :)

Re: Leather trousers
Definitely go to somewhere like Hein Gericke and try a load of different stuff on, as a snug fit is important with leathers. Buy them slightly too tight as they'll soon stretch with use. After you know the make and size you're after, then it's up to you if you want to find them cheaper on eBay or here.
