Dual Processor
Alright people,
I’ve got a dual processor (not dual core) machine in work at the moment. Anyone know how to test to make sure that both Processors are working? It’s just had a fresh install of XP Pro and thankfully all the drivers are all there. |
Re: Dual Processor
You can see both processors in task manager

Re: Dual Processor
Is it branded? If so download the diagnostics software that they normally supply. That will give you the best indication.
A quick and dirty solution of course would be to open Windows task manager. You should see more than one processor and some activity in each. |
Re: Dual Processor
Sorry - can't edit my posts from work - I think you see both CPUs under the "performance" tab on task manager

So you can, thank you. ;) |
Re: Dual Processor
another test is to run Anarchy Online with both processors enabled - it looks like the chase at the end of the Benny HIll show if they're both enabled :D

Re: Dual Processor
Better still use 'Process Explorer' a free tool from Sysinternals http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896653.aspx
Task Manager on steroids. |
