Cadwell Wheelie

Was at cadwell evening trackday a few weeks ago, 300 mile round trip from Durham was a bit of a shock to the system as I hadn't ridden a bike in 8 months. Good fun though, got the requisite wheelie at the mountain photo.

Yup, that's me on the bike, the wheelie felt higher than it looks in the picture.

Nice work then sir :)

Oh and re your sig, i never broke a bone in the 2yrs or so i did Aikido but my 2nd class of Ju-Jitsu the instructors said they loved Aikido and could i shown them my favourite technique. So i did and ended up breaking my toe! On one of the instructors heads!

"but we dont do kicks in Aikido, whats he on about" and you're right. I over balanced (master Morehei would be so discgusted with me) and as i stepped over my prone opponent he sat up, hence the toe/head interface.
:laughat: me, the whole class did.

Why thank you, you're too kind.

My Aikido instructor was ever so slightly insane, he came in one day with a big red mark on his forehead. He'd got in an argument with his with wife, gone outside and headbutted the wall.

As a result his class attracted slightly insane people and it was all rather high impact. I had a head ache for a while so I went to a physio and I'd cracked something in my neck, at which point I'd decided it was time to take up knitting instead.

Wow. And here was me believeing this....
‘If you think that 'martial art' means to have opponents and enemies and to be strong and defeat them, you are mistaken. The true spirit of the martial arts is to be one with the universe and have no enemies. The essence of the martial arts is the spirit of loving protection of all beings in the universe’

O’ Sensei Morihei Ueshiba
The founder of Aikido

I'd be worried if my instructor was not good at keeping his cool but the cracked neck bone i can believe as even tho its not a high impact art, you know you've been thrwon and thrown well when a technique is donr right.

I've just been off goggling for Aikido clubs in my area as its been years since i did a class. Suprisigly there are a few so i may well have to pick it back up. It was always my favourite art, tried Ju-Jitsu, kickboxing, judo and bare nuckel boxing too.

ok lied about the last one, lol, but i need to really start something again.
