Siezed bolt in wing mirror

I have to fold my mirror back to get in the garage and over time it kept getting stiffer. Yesterday it refused to move, I imagine I have tightened it to the point of no return.

I've tried to get it out with an allen key, removed from bike and it wont budge. Anyone had this issue?

wd40, soak it ver night, then strip it down, or even better if you have access to a real penetrating oil.

I'm out of WD40 but have sprayed ACF50 all over the moving (or not) parts, will give it a go tomorrow but I almost chewed up the slot with the allen key earlier so I'm pretty sure it's not going anywhere.

The stem has a cross head bolt underneath is that not what has tightened up, screwdriver undid mine?? The only allen key attachment to mine is where is fixes to the fairing.

Take it to your local bike shop, see if they got a tool to loosen it off, sure they will be able to assist.

Never used acf50 but isn't it quite a heavy oil, you need something light to penetrate, 3 in 1, olive oil, baby oil.

Try tapping an over sized torx bit into it.

I had a seized wing mirror bolt - albeit the one that actually attached the mirror to the bike. But after a couple of days of WD40 and attacks with various tools I had to drill it out.

If all else fails give that a go - start with a small bit and work your way up, being carefull not to chew up the thread when you get to the outside.

It's an allen bolt, not a cross head that holds it in to the base. Not sure if its mine that's wrong or yours but the allen bolt looks right and is the same on both sides.

Not got a Torx bit, may well take it to Fowlers tomorrow, if they can't fix it I'll get a new one.

Probably mine that is wrong LOL ... good luck hope they can fix it for you!

Actually if you get stuck let me know I have a left hand and right hand mirror. Right hand one on the for sale section but left hand one isn't.

Left hand one is Suzuki part, right hand one is pattern copy.
