Table Top Dishwashers

Bit of an odd one but has anyone got any experience of Table Top Dishwashers, particularly the Hinari Table Top Dishwasher though I’m not sure of the exact model.

Basically what I would like to know is how it plumbs in? Is it a tube that goes attaches to the tap or will I need to plumb something more permanent in, and the waste pipe will it go into the sink and down the drain that way or will it be something else?

How reliable and useful are they likely to be? And how good a job at cleaning do these things do? Also what sort of size and oddly what sort of weight are they?

I’m only intending to use it now and again and more as an experiment initially. I have seen one in the local trade paper for £50 and think it might be worth a shot for what I want it for...

Fizz you caught me. As I'm about to take the engine out I thought I'd give it a go as I intended to do this for a different project but now is a good a time as any.

The house I’m in doesn’t have one and I think plumbing one out to the garage might be a bit of a step too far. So I stumbled across this idea. Keep it in the garage when it’s not needed and just bring it in to the kitchen and hook it up as required. Me and Stretchie have been talking about this for a while and as a result GruntyGiggles have band me and him from going anywhere near their dishwasher.

Should this be now moved to Bikes - Talk & Issues?

My wife and I had one for about three years when we moved here. We bought it from Asda or Tesco or somewhere and it was £79. It was exactly the same as the £200 ones we could find in Comet and suchlike.

It came with a tap adapter, but we plumbed it in using a proper washing machine outlet.

The waste pipe can just go in the sink, that's what we did, just hooked over the tap. Used it that way for years.

It was about 2 foot across, 18 inches high and about 18 inches deep. It was bloody reliable, never put a foot wrong, and it washed amazingly well considering how cheap it was. It was bloody heavy for its size, I would guess about 25-30Kg, amazingly enough.

On another note, I wash loads of car/bike parts in our dishwasher. It's never done it any harm. My dad and I have been doing our parts washing in the various dishwashers for years without a problem. Just don't put a cylinder head in with your dishes.

Not sure. I was thinking of the dishwasher after seeing the results on an engine on another site. Not really heard much about a parts washer before. Would you recommend one?

Dunno. I don't have one. Just thought you'd be better with something designed for the job.

My uncle used to use one to do just this. Ebay does the ones that you use in a caravan, they dont require anything other then a sink IIRC.
