Speedo jumping on GSX-R front end curvy
Hi guys-
After a particularly spirited ride yesterday, now my speedo (not rev counter) is jumping about at speed + underreading. Now, I have a GSX-R front end but it seems to have retained the original sensor and has 4 magnets on the left hand side disc. I'm going to give it a bit of a service next week but does anybody know if the rotor in there will be the same (as I assume with no other electrical faults it's the rotor). I do need a little bit more coolant in there and the bike was running pretty hot all night so that may have something to do with it. Obv I'll check all the loom over that connects there and the main fuses, clean any crap off. Also I noticed that my right front disc is ever so slightly loose, as in, it will move about just a tad. I know the pickup isn't there but it looks like the little thing that connects the main disc to the bit it connects to is slightly loose on just one of the little things. Apologies for my technical terms... Thanks! |
Re: Speedo jumping on GSX-R front end curvy
so it's got a stock sensor, and 4 magnets? That's wierd, a stock sensor won't fit over the GSXR spindle.

Re: Speedo jumping on GSX-R front end curvy
i would suspect that its not the sv speedo sensor but the gsxr one and its been kept as a spacer not the actual speed reader

Re: Speedo jumping on GSX-R front end curvy
Oh, the little black thing kinda sits just above the wheel, it's a little strange. It confuses me a little bit, the whole GSXR speedo. As I didn't fit the front end myself, I don't really know how it works :(

the little black thing thats attacted to your forks on the inside is the seedo reader and you will find its not sitting flush anymore restick and volla fixed

Re: Speedo jumping on GSX-R front end curvy
Does appear to be sitting flush, I will double check it though.

Re: Speedo jumping on GSX-R front end curvy
has it slide up or down where is it in comparison to the magnet on the brake disc

Re: Speedo jumping on GSX-R front end curvy
Also, about the disc, one of the rubber flanges that sits on the circular bits (8 in total) connecting the right disc to the bit it sits on, meaning the disc moves ever so slightly. Is this replaceable on its own or do I need to get new discs?
The sensor is sitting flush as well :( |
