Just serviced. Now it always Backfires?
Just serviced my bike and now every time I roll of the throttle, in every gear, theres a big backfire.
I dont mind that much (kinda fun scaring passer bys) just wondering weather it could damage the bike in any way? At the service they fitted a restricted ECU. The bike has a can on with the baffles still in. Any ideas? It diddnt do this before the service - my only concern is wether it'll affect the engine? thanks Aran |
Re: Just serviced. Now it always Backfires?
an exhaust pop is normal with a can fitted, perhaps your fueling is right now? it wont hurt your bike.

Ahh aslong as it wont damage it then its fine.
Good point, it is new to me so I dont really know what 'normal' is. Ta! |
Re: Just serviced. Now it always Backfires?
My bike does this and my car did it much more... its the fuel air / ratio - probably corrected now.
My old car would backfire like a shotgun, would make people fall over in fright! And that was a 56 plate, but tuned, and tuned properly. Anti-lag etc Dont worry about it. If my car exhaust could take what it did, what I have heard on bikes is no worry! |

Few of my mates cars do it all the time too. I was just worried because it has only just started happening and its every time! But I like it...

Re: Just serviced. Now it always Backfires?
Aint timed it yet but letting off after some revs and it burbles/pops nicely. Certainly feel lucky as I know it is not always the case.
