Do I need a 3G Phone?
 

Well I need a new mobile as I busted mine this week. When I went into the store they fella was going on about got to have 3G there was me thinking I just want a phone!!!

What is 3G and do I need it I just text and call on the thing.:confused:

nope .
but if you want fast internet browsing then you will want it.

Its a frustratingly slow data connection that barely works.
You don't need it to text and make calls.
In fact there is something a bit wierd about the 3G network that makes even voice calls sound poor compared to 2G

sorry thats mostly cobblers. Some phones have better voice quality, is all. You've probably compared a good 2G phone to a bad 3G phone.

But he's right, to text and call, you don't need 3G. 3G is a data connection and used for internet browsing, email, whatever. It shouldn't have any effect on voice.

Can you actually still get non-3G phones?

yes for about £10 with £10 of credit. what you really want is a iphone.

yeah i got an i phone and the 3g works flawlessly its quite fast as welll browsing with the safari

depends where you live, there is no network that works everywhere.

no need i have one and my iphones 3g works flawlessly lol ... its never once let me down .
ok yeah some areas you dont get coverage but when you do. it works verry well.
i use push email and brows the web every day on my iphone and i can say it works verry well .
