Coffee makers.. Fitted or Worktop?

Down visiting my Sis this afternoon and we were having a rather nice coffee... took us onto the subject of them getting her new "Dream" kitchen fittted shortly. One of the items that is high on the list is a fitted coffee maker for her hubby.
Question is.. does anyone have one they could recommend? (they all do the same in a book) Or on the other hand.. Can you recommend a good stand alone one to sway him from the fitted type?
P.s.. Dont like the coffee pod things.. just ground! :D

Now I'm off for a fresh cup of hazelnut flavoured... :cool:

I have a Baumatic built in that's rarely used. The best coffee is made on a hob-top mocha pot like these;

Trust me, get one, cheap ones are as good as posh ones, they make coffee with no residue or bits in the bottom like cafetieres do.

Go worktop. Technology changes so it will look old in 5 - 10 years....

Ed recommended Nespresso a while back. We went with the Magimix 11267 and it is excellent. Simple and quality. If its good enough for Michelin star restaurants it's good.

EDIT: Sorry didnt read properly - its a pod...

I've got my eye on a Dualit for when the new kitchen's done in a few weeks' time (does ground and pods):

But that's wishful thinking and will probably keep using my 20 year-old stove-top espresso pot until it discintegrates.

Fitted ones are a bit naff IMO, and what happens when it goes wrong?
