My family insist the whole show is somehow fixed :???: and this is a case in point that he must have been an actor that someone paid him to act that bad. Other instances are 'how come they've always done a long interview with the people who turn out to be amazing before they hear them sing?'
I just believe that they know how to produce a good TV show. I don't think Simon would stand for someone making a fool of his show by having e.g. the French guy as a fix. I do believe there are people out there that sound that bad but think they sound OK.
OTOH I'm sure the program makers can tell/get to hear about contestants that are going to be amazing & make sure they have an interview beforehand.

I agree with you - but that would mean Simon would have to agree to them making a fool of his program  Or do you think he just thinks you need the bad ones to make it more interesting & goes along with it?

that guy did make me chuckle

but unfortunatley i think that is how he hears maria carey singing therefore he sings like that that himself. hes probably such a big maria fan that he thinks he can sing like her (in his head) but to us it sounds totally sh!te

My friend applied a couple of years ago and tells me that there are actually 2 auditions before it gets to our screens.

We see the queues outside waiting for the audition but from there they go the first audition which is in a different area and where there are different judges.... from that only the good ones or the really really bad ones make it thru to be judged by Simon etc.

Thats why you don`t see the mediocre people and thats also why they are sometimes told to have 2 songs ready!

I auditioned 2 years ago in Alexander stadium in Birmingham and 2 judges walk between the aisles and you sing on the spot with everyone else listening/watching. I got through that stage and was then ushered to like a viewing box (you know ..... those private rooms posh people use to watch the match) and there's cameras and other judges there (not simon and all that) I froze in front of the camera oddly enough though and apologised for wasting their time and went.

Dermot o leary was there presenting and we had to mock scream and cheer without making a sound whilst Dermot was speaking in front of us, they then add the sound of cheers after. Our audition was on a cold, wet winters day too and we were asked to take our coats off to pretend it was summer.

Was a really good day, I enjoyed the experience
