Finally finished my race bike!
Don't know why it took so long - didn't really have to do that much?
Anyway, few of you may have figured, but I hve converted my 675 into a full-time trackbike to to compete in the VMCC winter and summer series. I just missed out on round 4 of the winter series, so round 5 is in 2 weeks. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't ****ting my pants - I have done a shedload of trackdays/CSS, but this is still unknown turf for me! I start in the Clubmans which is where all the newbies get put (regardless of bike) until their laptimes are respectable enough to move into the main classes. Club racing is cheap in NZ, and providing you have lockwired your sump plug, removed your sidestand + mirrors and taped up and glass, you can race on your road legal bike! Few pics of the finished bike: http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/9169/64004527.jpg http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/3796/46296894.jpg http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/5549/80307577.jpg http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/2439/39560112.jpg http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/2402/12215086.jpg I'll stick up a post to say how I get on! :) Cheers Luke |

Re: Finally finished my race bike!
That looks really well prepped, well don.
Keep a close eye on the oil level and lockwire a couple of R-clips to the oil filler and dipstick. We've found the 675 we race uses quite a bit of oil and needs checking on a regular basis. The R-clips save having to re-lockwire after checking the level and topping up. Other than that, you seem to have everything in hand and sorted. |
