K3 tank and K5 rad

Hi there,

I have a few parts to sell from my bike, here is an album with the pictures in: http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/h...3/bike%20bits/

Items are: K3 blue (YC2) tank. Dent and rust on one side, but holds petrol fine, used it on my bike for about 2 years with no hassle. Few other scratches too. £60 including postage.

K5 radiator, slight dent from top mounting point, slightly flaking paint but otherwise ok condition. I was going to replace my bust K3 one with this but found out that the K5 doesn't fit the K3 bike. £50 including postage.

Is it a naked or faired radiator, if it's for a faired i'll have it off you.

Thats a good question. I bought it for my naked bike, but it doesn't fit. I assumed that that was because it was K5 and my bike was K3, but actually maybe it is a faired/unfaired difference? I will check part numbers and alpha sports website and give you my best guess.

Right, the diagrams look the same but I think they have just used the same one for all rads. The part numbers between K5 and K3 are slightly different, but the faired and unfaired are listed as one. I'd suggest a quick post in the main section to ask if anyone knows if faired and unfaired rads are the same, then if you are after a K5 one this should be fine for you. A key difference between the K3 and K5 I also noticed is the Radiator outlet pipe and the temp sensor connector are swapped around.

Yes we are. I thought the faired / naked rads were different, something to do with mounting lugs for the upper fairing...

All I know from the guy I bought this off is it was a K5. The photos should show you how the mounting points work? Certainly different mounting points for the fan compared to my naked K3, so my guess is that it is either a naked/faired difference, or a K3/K5 difference. Sorry I can't help further :(. If you need more photos of specific bits, just ask.

from what i know, the k5 radiator is unique, it's a smaller size than the k4 and k3 and again a different size from k6 onwards, it is only for the k5.
