need a route
 

I need to go down to Stoke on the bike tomorrow. Yes DKs but with a friend who needs to go.

she don't want to do motorways, can anyone tell me a simple route to get me south from Preston that does not involve town centres or busy urban areas.

If I can get to the east lancs I can drop down to the Warburton toll bridge and onto the A50 south. It is getting there without going though Wigan or Leigh I am trying to go.

Looking at maps is all well and good but does not give you the road information for congestion. She don't do filtering so I need an uncongested route to drop onto the east lancs from somewhere like Westhoughton


I know some of you guys live out that way, what are my options

the best routes I found whilst practising on my 125 (Non Mway) for this:

* Preston > Leyland > Mawdesley> Ormskirk>Past St Helens Glass Factory> Skelmersdale> Rainford> St Helens> East Lancs.

OR

* Preston> Chorley> Ecclestone> Wrightington> Appley Bridge> Billinge > Thingy Green > Ashton Makerfield > Culceth > Warrington.
