Earliest S/N curvey

I was chatting to a brother of a mate, and it turns out he has an sv650. So I asked which year and he said: "the eighth sv they made". I thought he meant a K8 or something, but he went on to elaborate that he had the 8th curvey that was ever made, as its serial number was 1000000008?! This guy is helping with the British motorbike landspeed record, so he should kind of know what he is on about and I don't think he is lying. So could that be possible? Would the 8th ever curvey come to England? Would it be an import? What happened to the first ever curvey? Does anyone have an earlier one than 8?

Re: Earliest S/N curvey

Well the first batch had to go somewhere :)

The Haynes manual has the first SV650-X frame numbers starting from:
SV650-X JS1AV133200100001
SV650S-X JS1AV111200100001

So it's certainly possible it ends in 00008 :)

The subsequent model years all start at random numbers for the UK, but interestingly the US models have a new frame designation zeroed at 00001 for each new year.

Edit, as the SV650S and SV650 both have numbers ending in 00001, his SV should sit between the 8th and 16th ever SV, but it would be the 8th S or N.
