Semi is fine, use good quality stuff. Full synthetic wont harm but it might be overkill. As long as is conforms to the JASO standards it wont do anthing silly to your clutch. Don't use car engine oils, they may well do soemthing silly to your clutch.

Quite plain and simple what Squid says, and with that in mind, Hein Gericke own brand 10w40. £14 for 4 litres, and i believe its on special at the moment for £10.50.

If you're not near a HG Halfords do a semi synth 10w 40 which meets the specs required for just under £20 for 5 litres.

This was in my bike for 3000 miles, no harm done :)
