new job FAIL

We had a new supervisor starting on my companies helldesk today. Supposed to start at 9am, so shortly after that we get a phone call "Hello, I'm starting working for you today - where is the office?"

Should have said

"I'm sorry I cannot help you with this. You'll have to book a call in with the helpdesk for assistance"

Better than my current job. when I got the offer letter it contained a suggested start date that was a fortnight before I received the letter.

Apparently it had been sat on an HR desk waiting for someone to come back from holiday to sign it and post the damm thing. The guy who had interviewed me must have thought me damm ignorant not to respond to his offer

A friend working for an airline had just completed a young lads final check to allow him to fly without an instructor when the lads girlfriend calls him to say he has a letter from the airline to say he was not going to be offered a position his experience didn't match what they were looking for. At this point he had been employed for 3 months and they had invested about £20000 in his training!!??

How do some of these companies keep going?

One job interview invite gave the address where the interview was, luckily I checked it out about a week before, to find a building site! I rang them and they apologised explaining that they had hoped the building to be finished, but they were still in temporary accomodation, in the next town!!
I got the job, perhaps it's was an intiative test?!

My previous job which stated as a contract, they had quite a few people turn up, and im still sure the next person was sat waiting for his interview.

I walked out the building, and no more than 20 steps then when my phone rang, and it was the agency saying i'd been offered the job.
