+1

I took the datatool system 3 off my bike as it was a pain in the a$$.

lock it up well and lock it to something.

If someone wants to take your bike, they will.

You just have to try and slow them down.

laa laa laa

everyone will have their own opinion on alarms and security, many people will tell you that A is not worth it over B

check with insurance what cost would be for bike with/without alarm/chain etc..
then work out what is worth it for you

people who say its not worth having an alarm are the ones who live out of town, as many times its the only way to have a fairly new bike in the city.

its a cat 2 (if your talking about the one in your sig)

also, most insurers will only accept an alarm that has been installed by an aproved installer

Alarms...main use is as a deterrent! But like someone said....if someone wants to steal a bike, they will.

TSM - you were willing to share the info with me which I appreciated and I asked you about the Soho meet but you ignored my posts which I found quite rude. I was free and able to meet you. I took you ignoring my posts personally. In my comment above, I was just expressing this...

Apologies - I have edited

I have an Acumen Cat 1 alarm which was fitted to my k4 when I got it, whilst it was great when I first had the bike, it has developed a fault and I have disabled it now - I use a ground anchor and disk lock while my bike is in a (padlocked) garage, and intend to buy another chain and add that to the disc lock I always use when parking outside somewhere.

Acumen have provided some very good support to me, and I'm hoping they'll send me a diode to prevent the "hotwire" signal that's coming from my indicators and making the bike think it's being nicked!
