Curvy 'S' footrest hanger
Had a spill a couple of months back so trying to get replacements for damaged parts.
The left-hand rider's footrest hanger was snapped and in 4 weeks of scanning ebay since getting out of hospital [:crutches:], I haven't seen a single one for sale. Does this part just always get broken when a curvy gets dropped? Has anyone had any success with Lumiweld on this part or similar die-castings? Since I fancy ratting the bike anyway, I might consider making my own version out of laminated and rivetted aluminium plates. |
Re: Curvy 'S' footrest hanger
It does seem to get broken by quite a lot of people when they drop the SV
Not sure if it'll help but the footrest hanger on the GSXR SRAD is the same as the curvey S |

Re: Curvy 'S' footrest hanger
When I broke my hanger 7/8 years ago it took so long for suzuki to get one I ended up bonding the thing back together. Worked fine I only changed it after I had the new one 6 months. Shall I see if I can find it for you ???

Re: Curvy 'S' footrest hanger
Thanks for the offer Steve. I've still got both halves of my hanger, so I could have a go myself. What did you use for bonding? Glue, ally-solder?

Re: Curvy 'S' footrest hanger
It was a long time ago but I think it was a unibond product that sets harder than the alloy. Just make shure that the surface is clean.
