GSXR 600 vs 750

Had my eyes set on a Daytona but going to keep my options open until I've ridden all the 600 class bikes.

Just wanted to check though, how much better is the 750 to the 600 in the mid range. I doubt I'll be screaming it everywhere so would like to have a handy bit of mid range but realise these bikes aren't great for that.

Only issue is the 750 doesn't come in white like the K8 600.

750 is quite a bit better than the 600, I would expect the 675 to fall in the middle of the two and reviews I've read don't disagree.

There should be a white 750 available: http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/bike/gsxr750k9/

It's not *exactly* the same as the 600 though.

Yeh I saw the K9 in white but I like the white wheels too plus I don't really want to buy brand new, would have to scratch up a bit more cash

The 750 is like a really powerful 600. Perfect!

The 750 is mental.

No two ways about it.

Especially when you start letting it rev.

Complete and utter rot, it really is, its rubbish.

It does depend on which 600 / 750 you are comparing to. Heres my experience...

I own a K5 750. I got loaned a K6 600 whilst my 750 was in for a service, so I had a chance to ride them back to back.

My 750 makes power from 4000rpm, by 7000rpm its starting to pull at 10000rpm its pulling hard. It'll go down all the way to 30mph in 6th and then pull away cleaning again with no juddering, stuttering or chain slap...

In comparision the 600 didnt feel that flat mid range wise, yes you had to rev it more, but it certainly felt willing from 6000rpm with similar steps in power as the 750 has.

Where the 750 scores for me is that I can ride it around in 5th & 6th gear pretty much all day, Mike_avfc on the same rideout spent most of his time in 2 & 3rd...

Theres not a big world of differnce but its enough to notice and I certain appreciate the extra cc / torque.

If you want proper midrange performance though get a GSXR Thou or somethig similar or go down the big twin route.

Test ride and see for yourself would be my advice.

I've jumped off my 750 (K5 like Fizz) and straight onto a mate's new Daytona 675. The Triumph had a nice easy midrange pull (that will be the triple configuration then) and felt very flicky and nimble. I found the seating position a little bit uncomfortable, and overall the bike felt like it wanted to be on a track! Razor sharp.

Was happy to get back on mine, although I plan to have another go on it sometime.

You'll have to test ride them, its the only way to know for sure.

This is a straight cost benefit thing. The 600 will be cheaper to buy new or used, maybe quite a lot cheaper if you shop around, and should be cheaper to insure. You even save a few quid on road tax.
The 750 is the same bike with more grunt, but costs more. You pays yer money and makes yer choice.
