Givi Topbox (what parts do I need?)
 

Hi All,

Yes, it's a topbox thread, yes, I'm buying a topbox. No, I don't care what it looks like.

Right, now that's out of the way, a question. I'm looking at [link 1] , and I'm more than a bit confused about the "universal plate bit". It seems I'll need a rack from [link 2].

Is the £33.35 monolock plate on [2] the same as the universal plate on [1]? If so why does it only cost £5 when bought with a topbox? And if it's only £5 extra when bought with the topbox why am I forced to buy a rack with a £33 plate?

I know I could just ask the retailer, but it's Sunday and I'm impatient.

I bought from these guys 2 weeks ago!!

The +33.35 plate is METAL, the one that is an extra £6 with the box is PLASTIC. That's the difference. My bf is going with the metal one (we bought both in the end because I wasn't sure what I was doing). I think you can buy the rack with no plate though if money is a worry :D The plastic one will do the job I am sure.

Motorbikes and parts gave me good service though it took about a week for them to get the rack, I'll be buying another rack and box for myself soon from them as well.

Well, I've just clicked the "buy" button, so it should arrive sometime next week. (Need it to haul my work laptop around).

Don't suppose anyone wants to make me an offer for an Oxford lifetime luggage sports tailpack which will be shortly going spare? ;)

How did you get on with the GIVI top box and mount?

How much did it cost you and which mount did you buy in the end?

Ok since my last post I have found that it is the £33 plate you will need not the cheapo one that comes with the box

What i wann know is how you lot have found a cheat round the swear filter and can type the word t**b** without it coming out like that.
