Trail riding instruction in the Yorkshire Dales?
I've managed to win back some holiday so was thinking of heading back to my Dad's in Yorkshire for a few days on the XR, and was thinking of getting a little instruction on trail riding/green laning and general off road techniques.
My Dad lives in Kirkby Malzeard (a few miles from Masham), and I was wondering if anyone knows of any instructor or similar for a day or so in the Dales? Luckily the ferry to Hull is only 10 miles from where I live in Clogland, then I reckon I should be able to find a dirty enough route back via Malton and the North York moors with a little research. |

Hi Tim
Did a day's ROAD tuition with these guys www.i2imca.com or phone Tom or Emma on:01430330170 / 07968837974 earlier in the year & found it a lot of use ( although others might dispute that ) They are based ( I think ) in Market Weighton, so they are half way to the ferry. Pop in to Pickering if you have a few minutes to spare or need a brief rest from that seat. |

ps Tim
You'll need those off road skills negotiating the 'treffen site! |

Re: Trail riding instruction in the Yorkshire Dales?
Rob, thanks for that link, it may help as a springboard.
And southerners, I may think about a southern trip at some stage, but I'll need to find somewhere safe to park my car and trailer near calais, otherwise it'll be a 500 mile round trip before getting muddy. Edit: I've had more useful information from this SV forum than on ADV rider or the honda trail forum, top work guys  |

I know the Teesside TRF meet at the big pub in Great Broughton (name escapes me now) and I think its a Thursday. Obviously you'll be pushed for time if you're paying a short visit but I dont know whether anyone there might be able to take you out on your XR and show you the ropes.
