Suspension Settings - what can and can't I fiddle with?

Well, i'm heading to a 'Suspension Workshop' tommorow morning, and i'm wondering what aspects i can change, all i've done myself so far is Rear Preload, does it have Rear Damping(compression/rebound) front preload and front damping, ect.
It's a completely standard (as far as i know) 2002 Faired model, and out of these, which can i adjust, and where will i find them?

Many thanks, Captaindeano

On a standard SV only the preload is adjustable, if you want to change anything else then bits of bike will need to be changed.
A common and worthwhile modification is to change the fork springs, there are several makers who will supply slightly heavier springs, note that a different spring will ideally need the damping oil changed to a suitable grade.
Many owners have fitted a different, and more adjustable shock, obviously you could spend several hundred pounds on one from one of the premium makers, Ohlins, Maxton to name but two, but there are standard shocks from a variety of other bikes that have been used to good effect.

I find the stock suspension, set up right works fine for me but i only weight 140lbs, i know most of you weight alot more which is why its useless to you.

Ok time to run cya

What's a suspension workshop? They getting your money to show you how to set sag? lol.

Suspension is not adjustable. Spring rate will probably be too far soft for you to get correct preload anyway.

It was just a (free) day setup by fellow members of a local forum how to set up suspension, sag, Compression and rebound preload, ect. I only went to see how to set suspension up once i get something to fiddle around with (aka: an '04 ZX10 rear shock and a GSXR front fork mod).
but that'll be a good few months to a year from now...
