Quitting cigarettes

I got drunk with the 675 lot some months ago and couldn't resist a cigarette - now finding it hard to stop:rolleyes: I was exchanging PMs with Kev yesterday about restarting running, life hasn't been exactly easy this year and I let my running programme slide. Well cos of Mrs Ed's adventure (see separate thread) I got home at 10pm, far too late to go for a run, but I did manage not to smoke.

So I'll occasionally let you know how it goes. This morning I so wanted a Marlboro Gold but I was a good boy and didn't. I'm determined to quit. Don't mean to bore anyone and I know a lot of you will be thinking 'stupid ****, shouldn't have started in the first place' even if you don't say it:rolleyes:

So I'll be lacing 'em up and heading out the door later on, for the first time in many months... I've promised Kev:D

It is really hard to quit.

I am currently trying, but failing miserably.

I don't envy you at all, good luck :)

Preaching with all the venom of an ex smoker. Giving up is easy. You simply stop. But you need to want to. near on 17 years since my last, I can remember being proud at 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, month year etc.

however, even now I still get the occasional craving.

Stay strong, focused etc. Beer is the equivalent of a bacon butty for wavering vegetarians.

You got that right mate!

Go run, then go post about it in the thread that has noted your abscence of late!

Good on you for not having a smoke, not even last night with all the car/missus related dramas?

I still enjoy the smell of someone lighting up, the very first puff smells great, but afte 7.5 years of not smoking don't really fancy one.

Ed - If you don't give up I'll be able to run quicker than you soon and you wouldn't want that!
