Can't access the forum, tech support needed...
 

Since yesterday morning I've not been able to access the forum webpage from my home connection

Firefox just gets stuck at the "Waiting for forums.sv650.org" stage and sits like that for hours - it occurs on some other webpages as well but others work fine

Website works fine from work, doesn't work on other computers in the house running 7/Vista/XP or using Internet Explorer

Have reset the router and ADSL connection with no effect

I can access the site using the proxy www.ninjacloak.com just fine

Anything I can try before I give the ISP a call and ask what's going on?

Yep, I don't think it's a forum problem as I can access it fine through the connection at work and it's also sticking on other pages, some of the photobucket servers are included which makes viewing image threads interesting:rolleyes:

It gets weirder though - Sat for example your post just now, I receive the email notifying me that you're replied and click the link in the email. It fires up in Firefox and gets stuck at the "Waiting for..." stage, I then go into the tab I've already got open through the ninjacloak proxy and hit "New Posts" and this thread doesn't appear, when I then go to Idle Banter it's there but not in bold so the forum *knows* I've looked that the thread, but nothing is displayed...

It does the same thing if I hit my bookmark for the forum, which is a direct link to "New Posts" - outside the proxy it hangs but if I then go and hit the link at the top of the page within the proxy I get the "You have to wait 15 seconds" message

It may be a silly question , but have you tried looking at the same pages in Internet Explorer ? I had something similar once and I keep IE on my system as a backup . Firefox was having a bad day so I switched over and it was fine . Funnily enough I had a failed update of Firefox for some reason . After updating it was fine , but I doubt this is your problem as FF was having a bad day with everything .

Especially as in the OP I said I'd tried using IE;):D

Thanks for the idea, I tried updating Firefox but it's happening in FF and IE, on separate computers running XP, Vista and 7


I'm going to phone the ISP tomorrow and see what's going on...

And you know what , I read your post and saw it mention Vista/XP and my mind just blanked out the bit where you mentioned IE .

Are you using a BT homehub 2 by any chance mate ? I am pointing at the router as you say it happens to all computers in the house and the common thing used by all of them will be a router .

That was tried in his Original post so rules that problem out , it`s like entering a minefield with your fingers in your ears and eyes clamped firmly shut :D
