Calling blackberry owners.
I may have to bite the bullet and forego the pleasure of having a life and get a blackberry.
I am spending more time out on site and dont get the chance to catch up on emails etc which is causing more problems. I have been offered a blackberry storm2 among others but as I dont know anything about them (as I previously enjoyed life awasy from technology at times) I'm asking the mighty .Org for some pointers. Will I get on with it or will I just launch it at something heavy? I'm currently using a samsung tocco ultra as my personal mobile and a nokia n96 for work, both of which are ok but one will be replaced by a blackberry (possibly). |

Supports multiple IMAP and POP3 accounts and it seems that the T-Mobile G2 Touch (HTC Hero) supports MS Exchange if thats important for you. Doesnt to push email like a Crackberry, but you can configure the time interval to check new mail to whatever you want. |
Re: Calling blackberry owners.
Speedplay,
What system is your work email run on and how do you access it at present? My understanding of blackberry is that they work best if there's a blackberry server linked to your mail system. Some companies do this, some don't and some offer it as an added extra. Think carefully about features, Blackberry may be the best fit, An Android mobile might suit you better or an iPhone may suit you. Symbian handsets have been developed with a good suite of software too. Think requirements first, solution 2nd. Jambo |

Re: Calling blackberry owners.
I'm using outlook for my email at work and accessing it via a laptop and mobile dongle.
The laptop will stay as I have to download and prind drawings etc in pdf format. I was looking also looking at an N97 for its mail capabilities. Really dont know which would suit better. I know I would rather retrieve my email rather than having it pushed to me ala blackberry though so it doesnt keep going off in my pocket. |
Re: Calling blackberry owners.
If you are using exchange (outlook) and dont use a Bez server for the blackberry then it the only otherway is to sync with a pc and its not reliable at all .
The iphone and windoes mobile devices work well out of the box with exchange .... You have the option to use push or retrieve with devices that support push ... You can set most devices to just show a mail symbol too instead of rining/virbating when u get new mail. |
Re: Calling blackberry owners.
Got one, and its ok ..... think I'd rather an i phone though .... the Mrs I-phone seems to work a little faster .... and have a few better features .....

Also they suffer from scratched camera lens too. While it looks good and has a good screen/keyboard, its flawed underneath. I may get a Hero or HTC HD2 instead but battery is always going to suffer with both of thoes. |
Re: Calling blackberry owners.
What about the iPhone?
