So there we were watching Mama Mia a short while ago. I was fed up of squinting at the box and I said to wifey, 'we need a bigger TV.'

She said 'Mmmmm. Just , how we gonna pay for it.'

I suddenly remembered. 'Oh on the never never'

And we both fell around laughing.

Wondering - how many remember it?

Yep we had our telly from Granada. Do you remember, a valve blowing was bad enough, but everyone was petrified of 'the tube going':D:D:D

The 'never never' was credit. It was shameful to admit to having anything on hire purchase, or 'on tick', or being 'in the red'. My dad used to be scathing about being in debt - funny, I wonder what he'd think now.

Aw Sally. Thanks for your kind thoughts. But just think of what you missed:p

I've posted this pic before, but I like it. It's the Austin family, south London, 1964. The sofa was paid for:D That's me on the right, I was three and a half. I remember the pic being taken.
