Burgman vs ZX-6R = ££££

I never thought my first accident would involve me being hit by an oversized scooter, but it did.

Last night, just yards from my front door, a gent on a Burgman turned right from a side road straight into the side of me because he was looking at the traffic coming from the other direction. Hit me one side, so the bike goes down on the other (with a Burgman on top of it) in the middle of the box junction I was riding through with priority.

Damage I can see: both side fairings, both belly pans, generator cover, both mirrors, both brake levers, right footpeg and bar end, can cover. Cost to make new from my verbal description to the dealer: £1412!!!

It's in the hands of insurance now (funnily enough, he didn't want to settle privately for that much)

Now officially grumpy - that bike was mint!

PS: I'm fine - going so slow I stepped off as my bike went down.

Thoroughly decent chap in the circumstances - believe he's told his insurer that he was to blame.

Sucks mate.

Hope it goes through the insurance ok. Just had mine back from when a cyclist decided red lights dont apply to her and I had a low speed spill.

Ah well at least that was the case. I bet he was more gutted than you though ha ha. I think in the his situation I would be. Just knocked someone off and knackered my own ride... Let hope his insurance is quick :)

Naaa, he will probably have insurance, nothing to really worry about, especially if he got protected no claims.
